Cursive script is the thin, elegant handwriting look: 𝒮𝓉𝒶𝓎 𝒸ℴℴ𝓁. Bold cursive is heavier, with every letter in the same weight, and it is usually easier to read on a small screen: 𝓢𝓽𝓪𝔂 𝓬𝓸𝓸𝓵. The rows below them add cursive inside decorative frames and the italic styles, which lean like handwriting without the loops.

Where cursive text works

• Instagram and TikTok bios. A cursive name or tagline at the top of your profile stands out in a feed of plain text.
• Captions and comments. Use it for one line, a quote or a sign-off, rather than a whole paragraph, which gets tiring to read.
• Invitations and messages. Wedding hashtags, birthday wishes and thank-you notes in chat apps that have no font options.

Why some generators get cursive wrong

Eleven script letters (B, E, F, H, I, L, M, R and small e, g, o) were added to Unicode long before the rest. The main block of script letters keeps empty slots where they would be. A generator that does not know this shows boxes or nothing at all in words like "Hello". This one fills each slot with the right older character, so every letter appears. Those letters can look a little different in some fonts because the font designer drew them separately.

Questions and answers

Why do a few cursive letters look slightly different from the rest?

Unicode added some script letters, such as ℬ, ℰ, ℋ, ℒ, ℛ, ℯ, ℊ and ℴ, years before the rest of the set, so they come from a different block and some fonts draw them in a different style. The generator uses exactly these official characters, so every letter shows up instead of a missing box.

Is there a cursive font for numbers?

No. Unicode has no script digits, so numbers stay plain in Cursive script. Bold cursive uses bold digits instead.

Can I use cursive in my Instagram name?

In the name field, usually yes, though Instagram sometimes rejects or strips certain symbols. Your username can only contain letters, numbers, periods and underscores.

Can screen readers read these fonts?

Not well. These are not real fonts but separate Unicode symbols, so a screen reader may spell out each one ("mathematical bold capital S") or skip it. Keep important information, like your name, contact details or a call to action, in plain text.
